New Delhi, January 19 (ANI): Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has shed light on India’s participation at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos, highlighting key themes such as inclusive growth, investments in infrastructure, and the democratization of technology.
The annual WEF meeting, taking place from January 20 to 24, brings together leaders from government, business, and civil society to chart a global agenda. This year’s theme, ‘Collaboration for the Intelligent Age,’ focuses on reimagining growth, investing in people, safeguarding the planet, and rebuilding trust. Over 350 governmental leaders, including 60 heads of state, are set to participate.
Speaking on India’s contributions, Vaishnaw emphasized the global interest in India’s economic policies and its transformative approach to digital infrastructure. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has put a significant emphasis on inclusive development,” he stated. “This growth model transforms lives at the grassroots level, bringing basic amenities such as bank accounts, toilets, gas connections, and tap water to those left out of development for decades.”
The minister also highlighted the pivotal role of the Digital India programme in revolutionizing technology access. “In Davos, there is keen interest in understanding our approach to economic policy and digital transformation,” Vaishnaw said. “Our efforts in democratizing technology under the PM’s Digital India initiative have inspired discussions on how technology can bridge societal gaps and enhance global development.”
India’s focus at the WEF will revolve around investments in social, physical, and digital infrastructure. The minister stressed that such investments are not merely economic strategies but part of a larger vision to uplift the lives of millions. “The world is keen to learn from our journey, where policy and technology intersect to create sustainable and inclusive growth,” he added.
The WEF 2025 meeting, organized around five core areas, underscores the need for collaborative solutions in an era marked by rapid technological advancement. Vaishnaw pointed out how India’s achievements align with this vision. “From urban to rural areas, India is showcasing how infrastructure development and digital transformation can drive progress while ensuring no one is left behind,” he said.
As global leaders converge in Davos, India’s model of development is set to spark significant conversations. With its robust digital framework and inclusive policies, India is positioned not just as a participant but as a thought leader in addressing global challenges.
The discussions at WEF will further delve into how India’s strategies can be replicated globally. Vaishnaw noted that themes such as reimagining industries in the intelligent age and investing in people align closely with India’s developmental priorities.
“India’s role at the WEF is more than representation; it’s about offering insights and solutions that resonate globally,” he concluded. “By sharing our experiences, we contribute to creating a world where technology and policy work hand in hand to foster equitable growth.”
The WEF 2025 promises to be a platform where India’s transformative journey inspires new collaborations and innovative approaches to global challenges.
